Charles Emmanuel Dofflemyer, 75, of Elkton, passed away July 7, 2012 in Elkton.

Mr. Dofflemyer was born April 14, 1937, near Elkton, and was the son of the late Floyd R. and Claudia Lam Dofflemyer. Charles grew up and lived his entire life in the Elkton area, and was a member of the Bethel United Church of Christ, and attended Lily of the Valley Church. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation, and enjoyed family, friends, gardening, and walking his dog, "Jack".

He is survived by daughters, Lori Dofflemyer and Deann Dofflemyer, both of Elkton; a brother, Nelson Dofflemyer and wife, Velma, Elkton; a sister, Helen Housden and husband, Freddie of Front Royal; and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Westly, Miller, Cecil, and Ralph Dofflemyer; and a sister, Edna Campbell.

Pastor Dan Bassett and Pastor L. J. "Dickie" Campbell will conduct the funeral service, at the Bethel United Church of Christ, 2:00 Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Burial will follow in the Dovel Cemetery in Bryant Hollow.

The family will receive friends (tonight) Monday from 6~8 at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Friends may also call at Mr. Dofflemyer's home at anytime.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bethel United Church of Christ, 2451 Bethel Church Road, Elkton, Virginia 22827 or the Lily of the Valley Church, P.O. Box 194, Shenandoah, Virginia 22849.
