AUGUST MAHNKE
(1864 - 1938)

August Mahnke, 74, died Saturday evening at the home, 1012 South 15th street. He suffered a stroke 10 days ago.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Leschke funeral home, and at two o'clock from the First German Evangelical Lutheran church. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. Mahnke was born in 1864 in Manitowoc Rapids and in 1894 married Theresa Wolter. They located at Sheboygan for seven years and then came to this city. He was employed for at time at the Esch company and for 20 years was an employe of the Aluminum Goods company.

Survivors are the widow; two sons, Herbert, city, Arthur, Rockford, Ill.; two brothers, William, city, Charles, Watertown, S.D.; sister, Mrs. Minnie Kraase, Milwaukee; and two grandchildren.

The body may be viewed at the Leschek funeral home until the hour of the services.
