Eleanore P. Nelson, age 73, of 1413 N. 7th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday evening, March 27, 1994, at her residence following a 3 year courageous battle with cancer.

There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.

She was born June 30, 1920, Two Rivers, daughter of the late Elmer and Nettie Deronso Gauthier and step-father William Toltzman. She attended schools in Two Rivers. Eleanore married Roland Nelson, January 10, 1942, in Manitowoc. She was employed with the Civil Service during World War II and was also employed at the Manitowoc Shipyards. She was a former member of Ladies Shrine Auxiliary and a former member of the Elk's Ladies Bowling League and was also a former member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her husband, Roland, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Neil McDougall, Manitowoc, Dawn Marie and Jim Steckmesser, Manitowoc; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Dorothy Toltzman, Manitowoc; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lou and Gene Gates, Two Rivers; a daughter-in-law, Gail Nelson Mellinger, town of Cato; seven grandchildren, Tracy, Jason and Gayle Sladky, Amanda and Sarah McDougall, all of Manitowoc, Aaron and Angela Nelson, town of Cato; one great grandchild, Courtney Sladky, Manitowoc; two special friends, Ruth Christenson and Margaret Evarist Bast, both of Manitowoc. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve and a daughter, Gay Ann Nelson.

Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Cripple Children, c/o Roland Nelson.

The Jens Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with the funeral arrangements.
