The son of Charles Keith and Shirley Ann Waldron Wiley, he was born August 21, 1979, at Garden City.
He had enrolled for the fall semester at Dodge City Community College, where he received an academic scholarship. He worked for McDonald's, Dodge City. An avid reader, he also enjoyed skateboarding, video games, listening to music, and spending time with his friends.
Brian was spelling champion for Gray County and Pawnee County and went to state competition three times. He enjoyed writing and was hoping to be a journalist or go into broadcasting.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Dodge City, and was active in the youth group at the church.
Survivors are his parents, Montezuma; a sister, April L. Wiley, Lawrence; his grandparents, Rlyn and Lois Wiley of Lyndon, Ervin and Bonnie Gailey, Osage City, Melvin and Mary Waldron, Pharumph, Nev.; and his great-grandmother, Pat Waldron, Los Angeles.
Funeral was 10 AM Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church, Dodge City. David Graves and Richard Graves, pastors, officiated. Graveside service was 7 pm Tuesday at Alpine Cemetery, Osage City.
