Jeanne Katherine (Schneider) Rising, 85, of Avondale, passed away peacefully at her home in Avondale, AZ on June 28, 2012. She was born July 20, 1926 in Astoria, NY to John and Katherine Schneider.
Mrs. Rising graduated from Brooklyn Methodist Nursing School in 1947 and was a lifelong Registered Nurse. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Valparasio University in 1951. She worked as a nurse in Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, ship's nurse with Holland-America Lines and served the American Red Cross, as well as several private clinics. She resided in Provo, UT with her family for 24 years before moving to Arizona in 1989.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Rising Reinke and one son, Harry Niles Rising III. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren, Alex, Eleanor and Katherine.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Brigadier General Harry Niles Rising Jr. and her brother, John Schneider.
Jeanne was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Litchfield Park, AZ and her memorial service will be held there on Monday, July 2nd at 11am.
She will be buried beside her husband at West Point, New York at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Breast Cancer Society Inc. in Jeanne's name.
