Mrs. L. W. Dufner ~
Jane Phoebe Dufner, daughter of John T. and Mary E. Little, was born in Marion County on September 13, 1874, and died suddenly at her home in Marysville at 7 o'clock, Sunday evening, August 12, 1934; aged 59 years, 10 months, and 29 days.
She had spent her entire life here in Marion County. On November 20, 1894 , she was united in marriage to L. W. Dufner. She and her husband settled in Marysville and have continued to live here ever since, with the exception of the year 1925~26 when they lived in Knoxville. Five children came to bless their home; two sons and three daughters. On son, Floyd, died in infancy; the rest are still living.
Belonging to the Lutheran church she had an abiding faith in Christ. She was a loving and faithful wife and mother, and a neighbor to all.
She is survived by her husband; one sone, Lonnie A Duffner, Kenosha, Wisconsin; three daughters, Mrs. Hugh (Millie) Davies; Mrs. Lloyd (Fay) Davies; and Mrs. Hubert (Hazel) Nicholson, all of Pershing; four brothers; T.J. Little and Geo. Little, both of Pershing; William Little of Bussey and Arthur Little of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, together with many other relatives and a host of friends.
The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcoopal church at Marysville at 2:30 p.m. Judson T Perkins, officiating. Burial was made in the Marysville Cemetery.
