Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 20, 1997, at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc with Rev. John Poudziunas, O.F.M. officiating. Cremation will follow.
He was born November 27, 1918, in Manitowoc, son of the late Frank and Lillian Wacek Konecny. Edward was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1938 and was a member of the National Honor Society. He married the former Gertrude Karl on May 7, 1942, in Manitowoc. Edward was a lifelong Manitowoc resident and had been employed by the Kaufman Manufacturing company for 45 years and retired in 1983. He was a member of the Machinist Local #516.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Konecny, Manitowoc; one son, Karl Konecny, Vicksburg, Miss.; one daughter and son-in-law, Kay and James Neuser, Manitowoc; four grandsons, Kurt, Kory, Brad and Ryan; two sisters-in-law, Joan Konecny and Gladys Raduenz, both of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Louis Konecny and John "Jeff" Konecny.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, from 4-7 p.m. Sunday (TONIGHT) and from 9 a.m. Monday until the time of service.
Edward enjoyed his candle-making, constructing model airplanes, woodworking and baking. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
