"Azora H. Eaton was born in Green township, Trumbull county, Ohio, August 30, 1843. She removed with her parents to the vicinity of Quasqueton in 1853 where she has since resided. She was married to Warren Chase October 14, 1863 and therefore the day of her burial would have been her forty-fifth anniversary. To Mr. and Mrs. Chase were born seven children, two sons, Charles F., now a resident of Montana, and Fred of Dallas, Texas, and five daughters, Mrs. Anna M. Slaughter and Mrs. Chloe M. Slaughter, both of Winthrop, Mrs. Myrtle A. Kelly of Omaha, Mrs. Minnie V. Norton, who died Sept. 7, 1896. Mrs. Chase is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Thos. Cottrell, of Independence, and Mrs. Geo. Parrish, of Belleville, Kansas, also fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home, Rev. Warkentien officiating, and the remains were laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery. The pall bearers were old soldier comrades of Mr. Chase and were: H. H. Love, J. McDonald, M. Perry, N. G. Parker, L. J. Tryon and George Turner."
