Travis Howard Brewer was born to William Henry "W.H." Brewer and Bidsey Adkisson 18 Mar 1903, the last born of their children. Travis was the great grandson of David Adkisson Jr and his wife the original Bidsey Adkisson ( Drucilla "Bidsey" Foshee Adkisson). Howard Travis' great grandparents were the first settlers of that part of Lawrence County in 1816 settling in the Wayland Springs area.

Travis' older siblings were Clura Maude, Jessie C, Annie L, Robert L, William Clarence and Carrie Mae Brewer. He married his wife Kathleen V McCarthy on 27 Aug 1925 in Washington, D.C.

Before joining his older brother William Clarence in D.C., Travis worked at farming on his father's farm doing general farming. He spent most of his adult working years as a Registered Pharmacist and Sales Representative in the Drug Industry.

Later in life Travis and Kathleen moved their residence to Greenville, Pitt, North Carolina. However Travis passed away in D.C. in the Wisconsin Ave. Nursing Home on May 6 1986. Travis was buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery In Washington, D.C., where his wife Kathleen was also laid to rest upon her death in 1992. Travis and Kathleen had no children.
