Charles F. Holle, 75, Laketon, went to be with the Lord at 10:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Silver Lake, to Gerald W. and Helen E. (Bohnstedt) Holle. He married Veta J. Caudill on June 18, 1954, and she survives.
Mr. Holle worked for the Laketon Elevator for 20 years (1949-1969) and later retired from North Manchester Foundry after 20 years (1972-1992). Since 1992 he was an escort driver for Cripe Mobile Home Transport, Laketon.
He was an active member of the Laketon Wesleyan Church since 1956, a trustee and a Sunday school teacher. He also was a member of the pleasant Township Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years.
From 1951-1953 he served in the U.S. Marine Corps, spending one year in Korea. He was a member and past commander of the Laketon American Legion Post No.402.
He is also survived by a son, Duane (Tea) Holle, North Manchester; a daughter, Mary (David) Burnette, Laketon; four brothers, William Holle and Wayne R. Holle, both of Tucson, Donald M. Holle, Warsaw, and Dale L. Holle, Tucson; a sister, Mrs. Floyd (Miriam) Stump, Tucson; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester Chapel, with the Revs. Duane Cragun and Tim Hibschman and Pastor Kent Harting officiating. Burial will be in Laketon Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, and one hour prior to services Thursday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home.
