ADA LENORE GROESBECK BETHUNE
Ada Lenore Groesbeck was born August 26, 1909, in Dodge Township, Union County, Iowa, and passed away at the Greater Community Hospital at Creston, Iowa on May 8th, 1965 at the age of 55 years. She had been ill for three years.
She was the daughter of Franklin H. & Ester Schneider Groesbeck. She attended Dodge No. 7 rural school and graduated from the Afton High School. She also graduated from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines and was employed as an accountant for a time until the death of her mother in 1930.
She then returned home to care for her family, her sister being a small child. She later taught school in various rural schools in Union County for many years.
She was married on June 30, 1934 to Davis Bethune, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Irvin Bethune of Walnut, Iowa, a brother, George Groesbeck of rural Lorimor and a sister Mrs. K. O. [Sarah] Hass of Fort Madison, Iowa. She also leaves to mourn her passing many nieces and nephews whom she had befriended,
One son, David Alan, preceded her in death April 26, 1960 and one brother, Lewis Van Hess who died in infancy. Her parents are also deceased.
She was converted and baptised in childhood and was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church the remainder of her life. She was buried at the Groesbeck Cemetery.
She exhibited strength and steadfastness of Christian character and was a source of strength, inspriation, and encouragement to those who knew her.
