(Gen Pillow was buried in Elmwood Cem., Memphis, Tenn.)
========================
Mrs. Mary Pillow, wife of Gen. G. J. Pillow, of this county, went to St. John’s Chapel last Sunday morning, after service returned home in her usual health, and while at dinner, took suddenly ill, and continued to sink under the disease, which proved to be apoplexy, until night, when she died. Gen. Pillow was in Memphis, and did not get home until the next evening. Mrs. Pillow was a model good woman, a devout christian, and though her death gives unmingled pain in the sphere of her labors, it will bring joy in the land of her rewards.
