Raymond C. "Ray" Burns, age 60, of Clare, passed away at his home on Oct. 11, 1998.
He was born on July 27, 1938, in Sheridan Township, the son of Wilbur and Edith (Gerron) Burns. He married Lois Fahnestock on April 18, 1970, in Farwell. Mr. Burns had been a lifelong resident of the Clare area, a mechanic, and a member of the Christ Fellowship Church of Clare.
Surviving are his wife, Lois; three sons, Rick and Kim Fahnestock of Farwell, William and Wanda Burns of Farwell, and Darrin Cooper; his stepfather, Harold Paul of Farwell; one brother, Myron "Buck" Burns of Clare; two sisters, Marie Roberts and Lucy Cooper, both of Clare; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 14, with burial in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Arrangements were by the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, Inc. of Clare. Clare Sentinel dated 10-27/1998 (Thank you, gladwin gal, for typing this obituary!)
