SPRINGFIELD - Jo Ann F. Burger, 71, of Springfield, IL died at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at St. John's Hospital. She was born April 29, 1941 in Springfield, IL. She married Jerry L. Burger November 24, 1964 and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1971. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Paul P. and Frances M. Grobelnik Zgaga.
She is survived by three sons: Derrick (Elizabeth) Burger of Eureka, MO, Dustin (Denise) Burger of Monticello, IL and Jerry (Shannon) Burger of Normal, IL, eight grandchildren, Austin, Bethany, Alexis Rose, Jayna, Lydia, Maxwell Hensley, Abigail and Andrew, a brother David (Pat) Zgaga of Lincoln, two nieces and several cousins.
A resident of Springfield all of her life, Jo Ann was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish at Sacred Heart Church. She worked for thirteen years at the Illinois Department of Revenue, nine years at the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers and six years for the Illinois State Bar Association.
Visitation: 10:30-11:30 am, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church.
Funeral Mass: 11:30 am, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Sacred Heart Church with Reverend Peter Harman officiating.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Jo Ann Burger Memorial Fund.
