LUGOFF - A graveside service honoring the life and memory of Dorothy S. "Dot" Moore of Lugoff will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Camden. Pastor Greg Sweet will officiate. Memorials may be made in Ms. Moore's memory to Lugoff First Baptist Church Building Fund, 106 Longtown Road, Lugoff, SC 29078. Dorothy died Sunday, July 8, 2012 in Wilmington, NC. Born in Camden on March 30, 1934, she was the only daughter of the late Alethea and Eugene Smith and a graduate of Camden High School. She was formerly employed as a key card operator at DuPont and as a disability claims processor for the State of SC. Dorothy was an immaculate homemaker in Lugoff and later, Columbia, SC. As a long time member of Lugoff First Baptist Church, she attended regular services, enjoyed several gospel music events and traveled with Christian Tours. In her final years, she was a resident at Morningside Assisted Living in Camden, SC and The Commons at Brightmore in Wilmington, NC. She will be forever remembered for her bright smile and gentle manner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Moore, also of Lugoff, SC. Surviving is her son, Kenny E. Moore, Jr. and his wife Deborah of Wilmington, NC., a granddaughter, Brittany Calvert of Wilmington, NC. Kornegay Funeral Lugoff-Elgin Chapel, is assisting the family.
