[A message from the Senate, by
Senator Jackson (of Lincoln), announced the adoption by that body and requested the concurrence of the House of Delegates in the adoption, of
Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 3- "Concerning the death of George D. Williams, former Sergeant-at-Arms of the Senate and a past member of the House of Delegates."
Whereas, It is with regret that this body learns of the death on May 19, 1960, of a former Senate Sergeant-at-Arms, the late George D. Williams of Alum Creek, West Virginia; and
Whereas, The former Senate officer, in the 1957 session, had also served the Legislature of West Virginia as a member of the House of Delegates in 1951-52; was a prominent political figure in his native Lincoln County, and was fatally stricken at the age of fifty-one years; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring therein:
That the Legislature of West Virginia pay its final respects to the late Mr. Williams, by the adoption of this Resolution deploring his untimely passing; and, be it
Resolved further, That the sympathy of the Legislature be extended to the bereaved family; the Clerk of the Senate being hereby directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the widow, Mrs. Lillian Williams of Alum Creek, for herself and six children, namely: Four sons, Gene, Billy, Gary and Jackie of Alum Creek; and two daughters, Mrs. Dell Mason of Charleston and Mrs. Mason Gillenwater of Alum Creek.
At the request of Mr. Belcher (of Lincoln), and by unanimous consent, the resolution was taken up for immediate consideration and adopted.
Ordered, That Mr. Belcher (of Lincoln), communicate to the Senate the action of the House of Delegates.]
