South Elgin, IL--Myrtyl Toler died in Elgin, Monday, 18 (June 1979). She was born Dec 30, 1889, in Lick Creek, the daughter of William and Caroline Hood Brading.
She had lived in Pekin for many years, moving to Elgin in 1971. She graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School and married William Orrin Toler of Anna in 1912. She taught Sunday school at the Anna Methodist Church before moving to Pekin. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Pekin. She was a member of the Audubon Society of Pekin, a member of the YWCA and a member of the Eastern Star of Pekin.
Survivors are one sister, Mrs. Beverly Rowe of Elgin and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William, in 1956, one sister, Ruby Alexander, four brothers, Everett, John, Samuel and Bon Brading.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Anna Methodist Church. Burial was in the Anna Cemetery. Stout Funeral Home in Elgin was in charge of the services. Memorials may be given to the Methodist Church of Anna.
