Frank C. Opichka, 57, Hartland, Wis., a caretaker of the home of Mrs. George Vits at Pine Lake, Wis., for the past 20 years, died at the Veterans Hospital at Wood, Wis., Sunday morning, where he had been a patient for the past several weeks.

Opichka was born at Laona, Wis., in 1896, a son of the late Charles and Emma Hamernik Opichka. When he was a boy, his family brought him to Tisch Mills where he resided until taking up his home at Manitowoc.

After serving as a machine gunner and with the military police overseas in World War I, he became a caretaker for the late George Vits dwellings and had made his home at Hartland for the past 30 years. He was a member of the nearby Chenequa volunteer fire department for 27 years.
Surviving are

his wife, the former Clara Beranek, whom he married at Tisch Mills in 1920;

a daughter,
*Mrs. Gwendolyn Rech of Milwaukee,

a son,
*Paul Opichka of Milwaukee;

a sister,
*Mrs. Ella Kope of Manitowoc; and

a brother,
*Charles Opichka of Manitowoc.

Opichka leaves his mother,
*Mrs. Emma Bonin of Manitowoc;

two stepsisters,
*Mrs. Adolph Jana and
*Mrs. Adelaide Cherney of Manitowoc;

two stepbrothers,
*Lawrence Bonin of Two Rivers, and
*Emil Bonin of Eagle River, Wis.; and

three grandchildren.
Opichka was a member of the Holy Name Society at Hartland for many years.
