Lewis D. Demske 86 died Thursday Sept 10 at the MidMichigan Medical Center after a battle with cancer and pneumonia.
He had lived in Midland all his life. He taught himself how to play the fiddle and played for many weddings, house parties, and barn dances during the 1930's and 1940's. He retired from the Dow Chemical Company on Dec. 30, 1976 after 40 years of service. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.
The funeral service was held at Blessed Sacrament Church with burial in the New Calvary Mausoleum.

Saturday morning at 7 oclock St Brigid's church was the scene of a quiet wedding which united Miss Ethel Reed and Louis Demski in marriage. Rev. John Boguslawski read the service and the bride and groom were attended by Miss Hazel Dean and Edmund Nogaski. A breakfast was held at the home of the groom's parents in Larkin immediately following the ceremony for members of the immediate family and that evening a reception was given in Larkin township hall for about 175 guests. On Sunday the young couple left for a wedding trip of several days and on their return will live on East Ashman Street.
