Hiram was the son of Jacob Casto & Celia B Winters Casto. On 4 Jul 1893 he married Clara Belle Ruble in Wood County, West Virginia. Clara died in Aug 1895. After Clara's death, he married Anna Eliza "Lide" Cowen on 8 Dec 1897 in Meigs County, Ohio. He and Lide were the parents of four children: Fern C, Dale George, Creel Cray, and Faust Josephine. He died in Staats Hospital in Charleston but was a resident of Ripley, Jackson County, West Virginia.
