He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Chattanooga Racing Pigeons Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Debbie Kendrick; two sons, Charles Ballinger of Indianapolis, Ind., and Benjamin Ballinger, of Elwood, Ind; seven grandchildren; a sister, Nora Kinder, of Muncie, Ind.; a brother, Bob Ballinger, of Anderson, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; special friends and caregivers who were like family, Eldon and Gayle and April and Juston Ross.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. CST Sunday in the chapel with the Rev. Dennis McCharque officiating.
Burial will be in Brayton Cemetery. Visitation 5 until 8 p.m. CST today. Arrangements by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Highway 127 South, Pikeville, Tenn.
