Ashley Morgan Carter 61 died of a heart attack last night at his home 3533 South Benton. He was employed as a clerk at the Carter-Waters corporation, a firm partly owned by his brother E. Kemper Carter, 6625 Brookside road. He was a member of the Ivanhoe Masonic lodge and the Knights Templar. He is survived also by his wife Mrs. Mary A. Carter of the home, a daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Margaret Smith, Kew Gardens, New York, and another brother, Paul C. Carter, Alhambra, Calif.

Ashley Morgan Carter, 61, died of a heart attack Wednesday, July 9, at his home at 3533 South Benton, in Kansas City. Funeral services in Kansas City will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday, July 12 at the D. W. Newcomer's at Brush Creek Boulevard and the Paseo. Graveside services will be conducted at 4:30 o'clock Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph by Rev. Myers, under the auspices of St. Joseph Chapter No. 78, A. F. and A. M.

Mr. Carter was employed as a clerk at the Carter-Waters corporation, a firm partly owned by his brother, E. Kemper Carter, 6625 Brookside road. He was formerly employed by Swift Company. He came to St. Joseph from Great Bend, N. Y., and moved to Kansas City In 1922. Ashley Carter was a member of the Knight Templar Ivanhoe Masonic lodge in Kansas City, the St. Joseph Chapter No. 78, A. F. and A. M., and the Royal Arch Masons, Mitchell Chapter, of St. Joseph.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary A. Carter of the home, a daughter Mrs. Elizabeth Margaret Smith, Kew Gardens, New York, and two brothers, E. Kemper Carter of Kansas City, and Paul C, Carter, Alhambra, California.
