Mrs. Ruth (Belle) Hanson, life-long Northfield area resident, died at the Minnesota Odd Fellows Home on Thursday, Jan.15, 1981, at the age of 93. She was born on Oct. 20, 1887, at Bridgewater Township, the daughter of Frank E. and Amelia Hall. She married H. Andrew Hanson in 1914 and the two established their home in Northfield. Her husband worked for the Northfield Independent, a weekly newspaper, as a lino-type operator for many years. Mrs. Hanson was a member of the First United Church of Christ (Congregational). She was skilled at needlework and once actively participated in women's bazaars at the church. The funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan.17, at the Benson-Anderson Funeral Home, the Rev. Gordon Forbes officiating. Interment was at Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Hanson's parents, husband and two sisters are also deceased. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Alice M. Grover of Minneapolis, nieces and nephews.
