Evelyn S. Troxel, 96, of Mulberry. IN died at Mulberry Health and Retirement Community at 12:05 a.m. July 14, 2012.
She retired as a clerk for Mulberry Post Office, 1940-1975.
Mrs. Troxel was a lifelong resident of Clinton County and a graduate of Rossville High School.
She was a member of member of Mulberry United Methodist Church and lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Born Dec. 8, 1914, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of James P. & Gartha (Mattix) Hackerd.
She married B. Harold Troxel on April 12, 1936. He died in 1980.
Surviving are a Son: Bradley (wife: Nancy) Troxel of Bakersfield, CA; Daughter: Jane (husband: Gene Johnson) of Greenwood, IN; Sister: Kathryn Zimmer of Brook, IN; 6 grandchildren: Kristan (Robert) Hinson, Stacey (Ricardo) Arteaga, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Morris, Lance (Holly) Troxel, Adam (Emily) Troxel, and Kent (Marci) Johnson; 15 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, husband, three brothers, John, Robert, and James Hackerd; and sisters, Barbara Newhart and Wilma Catron.
