Obituary - Edward A. Hildreth, who was born in Sag Harbor 58 years ago, died very suddenly at his home in Hempstead from acute indigestion about 5:30 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Hildreth, who for years was in the hotel business in his native town, was the proprietor of the Foster House in this village for about 12 years, removing about five years ago to Rockville Centre, where for several years he had a popular restaurant on Main Street. More recently he had been conducting a real estate business in Hempstead. His wife, who died about three years ago, was a daughter of Daniel Thurber, of Patchogue. He is survived by three brothers, George, Bert and Harry Hildreth, and by two sisters, Mrs. Fred Pulver and Mrs Frank Esterbrook, all of Sag Harbor, and by two sons, Charles of Freeport, and Harold of Patchogue; and two daughters, Mrs. George Ashby, of Mineola, and Mrs. Madeline Wells, of Patchogue. The funeral was held at two o'clock this afternoon from Ruland's undertaking parlors in Patchogue and the interment was in Cedar Grove cemetery.
