She was preceded in death by parents, Patrick P. and Catherine (Tintlenot) Sullivan; five brothers, John, Robert, William, Joseph and James; and six sisters, Katherine, Bernadette, Gertrude, Dorothy, Marie E. and Sister Ida Catherine Sullivan, SC. She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Seton Hill University and a master's degree in education from Arizona State University. Sister Marie Patrick taught in schools in the Altoona-Johnstown, Pittsburgh and Phoenix dioceses. She ministered as a social worker in Ajo, Ariz., within the Tucson Diocese. She served as vice-principal at Our Lady of Perpetual Help School, Scottsdale, Ariz., and was principal at St. Theresa School and St. Catherine School in Phoenix, Ariz. She also served as principal at St. Mary Magdalene School, Homestead. Sister Marie Patrick worked as an aide at the Sisters of Charity Adult Day Care Center, Monahan Center, Greensburg, and volunteered her services at Caritas Christi, the motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity.
In reflecting on her life as a Sister of Charity, Sister Marie Patrick stated, "My journey to serve God as a Sister of Charity has been truly life giving. It has been a great joy to experience and share God's love for us in so many ways and in so many places."
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2017. Vigil will follow at 7 p.m. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, all at Caritas Christi Motherhouse, Mt. Thor Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
