Charles Edward Miller, Sr. was the son of Anthony Padua and Anna Charlotte "Lottie" (Dickey) Miller. He was born Vineyard Run. Charles was the brother of Harry Anthony Miller. Ethel (O'Neil) Miller was his 1st wife. Ethel died May 2, 1921.

MILLER
Charles E. Miller, of 4 Center Street, died at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday in the Elk County General Hospital. Hospitalized for four days, Mr. Miller was in his 71st year. Deceased was born at Vineyard Run, Elk County on August 8, 1890. He was a resident of Ridgway for the past eight years. Mr. Miller was a retired clerk of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. He was a member of the BPOE; VFW and the Brotherhood of Railroad and Steamship Clerks. Survivors include the following children: Charles E. Miller Jr., Buffalo, New York; James, Frank and Thomas Miller, Cleveland, Ohio; and Mrs. Frank Schmidt (Kathryn), Erie. Two brothers also survive: Harry Miller of Johnsonburg and Clyde Miller of Lock Haven; sister Mrs. F. Glenn Pontzer (Ruth) of Lock Haven. Eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ethel O'Neil, of Donora, Pa., in April 1921 and by his parents, the late Andrew P. and Anna Charlotte Miller.

Miller, Charles E., died on Tuesday, May 16, 1961. Funeral services for Charles E. Miller will be conducted at the Van Aken-Meehan Funeral Home on Friday, May 19, at 2 p.m., with interment in Thayer Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Thursday at the Van Aken-Meehan Funeral Home.
