Alice A. Sleger

Alice A. Sleger, age 84, a resident of River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, died Sunday Morning, March 9, 2003, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Ronald Reimer with burial at St. Casimir Church Cemetery, town of Newton.

She was born Oct. 6, 1918, in the town of Gibson, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Emil and Mary Hardina Pries and step-daughter to Amanda Pries. On Jan 7, 1939, she married Victor Sleger at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. He preceded her in death March 1, 1992. Mrs. Sleger was a former member of the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Casimir Catholic Church. She is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law: Leon and Arlene Sleger, Wayne and Connie Sleger, Emil and Sandra Sleger; a daughter and son-in-law: Charlotte and Russell Hansen, all of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Lloyd (Mary Jo) Hansen, Manitowoc; Kim (Anthony) Langley, Manitowoc; Robert (Melissa) Sleger, Manitowoc; Anthony Sleger, Manitowoc; Tamara Sleger, Illinois; Travis Sleger, Manitowoc; Cassandra Sleger, Manitowoc; and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, other relative and friends. She was also preceded in death by a grandson: Dale Hansen and two sisters and brothers-in-law: Helen and Joseph Kaiser and Lucy and Joseph Prucha.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at 11 a.m.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
