BRAZIL — Frederick Leon Adamson, 89 of Brazil, died Tuesday evening, June 26, 2012, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital in Brazil. He was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Lena, Ind., as the son of Phil H. Adamson and Reba LaRue Adamson. He graduated from Bridgeton High School. He married Marjorie Mercer Oct. 20, 1942.
Fred was owner and operator of Adamson laundry and dry cleaning business. He was a member of the Carbon Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge FA&M 529, and the Brazil Rotary Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Virginia Landes; and brother-in-law, Albert Landes.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; son, Mark D. Adamson of Brazil; daughter, Lisa M. Caldwell of Terre Haute; grandson, Ethan F. Caldwell of Terre Haute; granddaughters, Olivia K. Caldwell and Lilly M. Caldwell, both of Terre Haute; three stepgrandchildren; and other extended family.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Moore Funeral Home, 142 N. Washington St., in Brazil. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday with Perry Major officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Rotary Foundation PolioPlus Fund, One Rotary Center, 1560 Sherman Ave., Evanston IL 60201-3698.
