Shane Lynn Burns
"Ishy"
Our beloved son, brother, dad, uncle, and friend, Shane Lynn Burns, age 33, died on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at his home in Sandy, Utah. Shane was born on June 8, 1973 to Jacob and Barcy Burns in Murray, Utah, the sixth of seven children.
Shane graduated from Jordan High School in 1991 and was a member of the LDS Church. He enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, and golfing with his brothers and brothers-in-law. He prided himself on his "blue darts". He was a talented artist and wood worker and a wonderful cook. He enjoyed training hawks, traveling, building his own Jeep, Slurpees, Wendover, Lake Powell, and tormenting his family. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys and Utah Jazz fan. He had a soft heart and loved his son, all babies, his brothers, and the rest of his family. The infamous "Burns Boys" won't be the same until they're all together again.
Shane is survived by the light of his life, his son, Kayden Lynn "Bugsy" Burns and Kayden's brother, Braxten "Braxten-roni" Brown, his brothers, Layne Burns, Scott "Scooter" Burns (Becky), Brock "Frank" Burns (Susan "Suzanne"), Stratton "Chonch" Burns, and his sisters, Kaya (Bruce "Rodney") LePrey, and Nicki "Nicoli" (Richard "Dick Bill") Stoker. He is also survived by the nieces and nephews he adored: Codee (John), Lacee, Chelcee, Cassidee, Shawnee, Brady, Kendra, BreAnna, Jordan, Garrett, Lexi, Avery, Addyson, Gage, Jentry, Kelton, Wyatt, Dylan, Ty, and Tymber. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lynn and Nedra Nickell, Melvin and Myrtle Lea, and Glen Burns, his aunt, Elaine Culwell, and by his uncle and aunt, Brent and Stella Nickell.
A viewing will be held Thursday evening, July 13, 2006 from six until eight at the Lake Hills Memorial Funeral Home, 10055 South State Street, Sandy, Utah, and again from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 at the Sandy Central Stake Center, 1050 East Galena Drive, Sandy, Utah. Shane's funeral will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Sandy Central Stake Center. Interment: Lake Hills Memorial Cemetery, Sandy, Utah.
