Walter James Burke born Adjala 27 Feb 1868 Baptised 10 Mar 1868 Parents named were Walter Burke and Mary Lynch
Sponsors were James Lynch and Catherine Nolan

Walter J. Burke, the talented young attorney who has grown from childhood among us and after years of preparation was admitted to practise and for a short time practised at Cavalier and later accepted a partnership with J.H. Bossard at Grand Forks, where he has been practising for the last two years, has purchased the the business of N.C.Young in this place and will come here to take charge of it about the first of March.
Walter has every advantage of a large practise, probably the largest of any attorney in the state, for the time he has been in Grand Forks and comes among us with that experience and a natural legal ability that will fit him well to take the place of the able attorney whom he is to succeed. He is one of the most popular young men of this county, and of sterling honesty
and he will drop naturally into the place and keep up the large practise already gotten together.
