June 30, 1902 - "Mr. and Mrs. James T. Boddy, of this village, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at their home on West Main Street, Saturday evening. The event was observed by members of the family and their children, who gathered at a supper given in honor of the old couple. Mr. and Mrs. Boddy were married by the late Rev. Dr. Twing, in the parsonage of Trinity Church, New York City, June 14, 1852, and they have lived for a quarter of a century at Patchogue and have a host of friends on Long Island. Mr. and Mrs. Boddy were born in Ireland seventy-seven years ago, and came to this country when they were young. Mrs. Boddy traces her genealogy to Mary, Queen of Scots, of which the estimable old lady is duly proud."
