DEAN BRANT, 30, TAKEN BY DEATH
Young Farmer of Lucasville Community Dies of Peritonitis
Death at 12:20 a. m. today claimed Dean Randolph Brant, 30, popular young resident of the Lucasville community, who died at Mercy hospital of peritonitis following an operation April 22 for the removal of his appendix. His condition had been serious several days.
Mr. Brant, member of a pioneer Lucasville family, was born and reared in that community and since his graduation in 1932 from Ohio State University, had taken an active interest in the agricultural projects of the county. He was president of the Farm Bureau at Lucasville.
The young farmer managed ~ farms owned by his family at Clifford and resided on one of the farms. He was born July 9, 1909, a son of Clyde and Nell Idleman Brant. His mother preceded him in death. Mr. Brant was a graduate of Valley Rural High School.
In December, 1937, he was married to Lucille Shonkwiler, who survives. He also leaves his father, a sister, Mrs. Ralph French (?) of Akron,and a brother, Dr. Joseph H. Brant of Kingsport, Tenn., who has been at his bedside. The body is at Daehler's funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
