Marion Almira Stanhope was born on 28 Nov. 1867 in Greenfield, Wisconsin but raised in Oceana County, Michigan. The second child and only daughter of Erwin and Anna (Cooper) Stanhope. She was called "Mira" during her lifetime. Her older brother was Elmer and her younger brother was Charles.
Mira had an 8th grade education (schooling until June 1882). Her younger brother Charles died in March 1890.
Mira was an independent woman who never married. She got involved with real estate investment business with her brother Elmer from about 1905 until the stock market crash of 1929.
Mira died at age 86 in Hart, MI. She was survived by nieces and nephews and cousins.
