Gertrude Asay Cluff, age 81, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2004, at her home in St. George, UT. She was born July 16, 1923, in Hatch, UT, to Theodore Parmer Asay and Sarah Harriet Anderson. She married Clarence Cluff on February 1, 1941, in La Verkin, UT. They were later sealed in the St. George Temple. Gertrude was raised in La Verkin. During her life she also lived in Pioche, NV, Hurricane, and St. George. She resided in St. George at the time of her death. She is survived by her son, Raymond (LaDene) Cluff, of Washington, UT; three daughters, Marsha Hunt, of St. George, UT, Rose Mary Carter, of Henderson, NV, and Lona (Jim) Sanders, of Washington, UT; 20 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Hall, of Washington, UT, Theo Blake, of Cedar City, UT, and Essie Lempens, of Washington, UT; and one brother, Golden Asay, of Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; daughter, Connie Renee; three sisters, Edith Barnhurst, Rose Robinson, and Hazel Hardy; brother, Perry Asay; and granddaughter, Ranae Cluff. Funeral services held Saturday, August 21, 2004, at the St. George Eighth Ward Chapel, 166 S. Main St. Interment in the Hurricane City Cemetery. Arrangements are made under the direction of Spilsbury Mortuary, 673-2454.
