WHITFIELD, JR., FRANK E. "BUDDY" of Helena, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the age of 70. He was a graduate of Ensley High School and attended Jacksonville State and Auburn University. He was a member of the 87th MAC Army Reserve. He was a member of Grace Life Baptist Church in McCalla for the past 10 years and a lifelong believer in Christ. Through his battle with cancer, his constant prayer was for God to get all the glory. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Bertha Whitfield and his brother, Raymond. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia; 2 daughters, Debra (Bobby) Harvard and Wendy (Kyle) Woods; 4 grandchildren, Haley and Joey Harvard and Reed and Riley Woods; a sister, Shirley (Bill) Bailey; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 12 to 1 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 1 PM in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Joel Frederick officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Grace Life Baptist Church, 6200 Lou George Loop, Bessemer, AL 35022. >>
