She was born June 16, 1918 in Goochland Co., Virginia to William McKinley and Maude Barrett, She married Mack Baugh on September 7, 1935. He preceded her in death on October 19, 1963. To this union, 15 children were born.
Reacie was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Ottumwa where she served as a deaconess. She pursued her career in nursing then opened Baugh's Retirement Home in 1970. In 1995 she was selected "Mother of the Year" of Ottumwa. She loved to crochet and write poetry.
Surviving are her children, Edna Perry of Kansas City, MO, Roy(Anne)Baugh and Ruth(James)Humphrey both of Kansas City, KS, Earl(Jonene)Baugh of Waterloo, IA, James(Angie)Baugh of Blue Springs, MO, Larry(Josephine)Baugh of Waterloo, IA, Naomi(Ben)Labrie of Kansas City, KS, Barbara Baugh of Des Moines, IA, Dr. Andre Baugh of New Orleans, LA, Ricky(Arlette)Baugh of Brighton, MA, G. Curtis(Lori)Baugh of Pella, IA nad Billy Brooks, a foster son of San Antonio, TX; 44 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Beverly; sons, Gary and Mack(and his loving wife, Sylviane); two grandsons; two sisters, and four brothers.
Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday at Second Baptist Church with Rev. Leslie Buchanan and Minister Howard Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Ottumwa Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 am Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 pm Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the benefit of Reacie Baugh.
