Erna Elaine Munroe Barney lived in Kansas most of her life. Erna was married to Arthur F. Barney in 1933. In 1937 her Father, Charles Ervine Munroe, packed up the rest of the family and moved from Kansas to Newberg, Oregon. Erna and Arthur lived on a farm a few miles east of South Haven, KS. They had 6 daughters, Betty Jo, Patsy Ann, Sonja Lee, Judy Kay, Cheryl Faye and Barbara Jean. After Arthur's death in 1991, Erna remained on the farm for several years until health concerns dictated that she move to an Assisted Living Facility in Winfield, KS. She occassionally visited her daughters living in different parts of the county. The last few years she spent with her daughter, Judy, a registered nurse, in Apple Valley, California. Upon her death she was transported to Arkansas City, Ks for services and final burial in Rose Hill Cemetery beside her husband, Arthur. She was just short of her 99th birthday.
