Clarence G. Stolzmann

Clarence George Stolzmann, age 89, a village of Cleveland resident passed away Saturday July 7, 2001 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home, Sheboygan where he had been a patient for the past two days.
Born February 19, 1912, in the town of Centerville, he was a son of the late William and Laura Neuhaus Stolzmann. He graduated from 8th grade at Pleasant Hill Elementary School.

Clarence was united in marriage to Verona Henschel on Nov. 20, 1937, at St James U.C.C. Spring Valley. The couple resided on the Stolzmann homestead farm until1941 when they moved to Cleveland. Clarence was employed at Cleveland Hardware and later at R.P. Jost Co. retiring in 1978.

He was a member of St. James U.C.C. where he had served on numerous committees. He served as fire chief for the Cleveland Fire Department for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Verona, two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen (Eunice) Stolzmann of Cleveland and Lloyd (Jane) Stolzmann; four grandchildren; Mike Stolzmann of Sheboygan, Mark (Kathy) Stolzmann of Cleveland, Becky (Jason) Litwaitis of Milwaukee, Amy Stolzmann of Champaign, Ill.; three great-grandchildren, Eric, Rachel, and Brittany Stolzmann of Cleveland and one sister, Mrs. Edna Ninmer of New Holstein.

Preceding Clarence in death were his parents, three brothers, Harry, William and Elmer Stolzmann; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Schmidt and Mrs. Adeline Junk.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at St. James U.C.C. in the Town of Meeme. The Rev. William Kesting, pastor will officiate. Burial will be Wednesday morning at St. James Church cemetery.

Friends may call at St James U.C.C. from 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, until the hour of service.
A memorial fund has been established in Clarence Stolzmann name.
