FLOY L. NELSON
(1875 - 1919)

MRS. W.W. NELSON, OF THIS CITY, PASSES AWAY, OCONOMOWOC, AFTER ILLNESS OF SEVERAL MONTHS

After an illness of some months Mrs. W.W. Nelson wife of one of the members of the Plumb & Nelson Co. passed away at Dr. Voges Hospital at Oconomowoc last evening. Her son and husband though summoned when her condition became critical were unable to reach her and her daughter June who is studying at the Chicago Three Art school did not arrive before the death of her mother.

Floy Lingerfelter was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and spent much time in Manitowoc as a child as the guest at the home of her uncle, Dr. R.K. Paine. She early developed a remarkable talent for music and became an accomplished singer and player. While on a visit to the city she became acquainted with William Nelson and the two were married some twenty three years ago. Although a devoted wife and mother she was able at all times to keep up her interest in the musical work that formed so large a part of her life and took part in many a concert besides doing valiant work in the St. James church.

Of a frail physique Mrs. Nelson overtaxed her strength and for some time back her condition has become increasingly serious. At times during her stay at Oconomowoc her health seemed to improve but repeated sinking spells finally undermined her power of resistance.

Besides a husband deceased is survived by a son Alfred W. Nelson, recently returned from Army service and a daughter June Esther. An aged mother also lives to mourn her daughter's loss.

The body will reach Manitowoc today and the funeral will probably be held Saturday.
