Myra (Braasch) Nelson, age 88, a former Manitowoc resident, died Saturday, September 10, 1994, at Colony Oaks Care Center, Appleton.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 1994, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Glenn Unke with burial to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

She was born December 13, 1905, in Newton, Wis., daughter of the late George and Wilhelmina Schwantz Braasch. She was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and had a great love for gardening, growing flowers and wild floral arrangements.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and George Van Leur, Appleton; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald G. and Su Nelson, Livermore, Calif.; five grandchildren, Mark Johansen, Terry Johansen, Lisa McPhillips, Toni Ferguson, Kati Weyland, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arnold in 1963, one brother, Arthur Braasch in 1992, and an infant sister, Ruth.

Friends may call at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services.

There will be no Tuesday evening visitation.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Myra Nelson of route 5, Manitowoc, won a divorce from her husband, Arnold, of route 4, Manitowoc, on a counter-claim. The couple married in 1934 in the town of Newton and have two children.
