Mrs. Elmer Nelson, 47, former Manitowoc resident, died Tuesday morning at Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., following a lingering illness.

The former Elizabeth Schladweiler was born at Manitowoc and 18 years ago was married to Mr. Nelson. He was stationed with the Coast Guard at Duluth, Minn., and six months ago the family moved to the Soo.

Surviving her are the husband, four sons, David with the Navy and Gerald, Chelsey and John at home; a daughter, Carol, at home; mother, Mrs. Catherine Schledweiler of Manitowoc; three brothers, Charles of Rosecrans, Richard of Manitowoc and Ben of Two Rivers; and two sisters, Mrs. Elmer Khail of Port Washington and Mrs. Harold Halstrom of Brillion.

Funeral arrangements will be announced Thursday by Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
