Mrs. Vera Nelson, 93, formerly of 432 N. 9th Street, Manitowoc, died Friday, July 5, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.

Eastern Star memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mrs. Nelson was born May 12, 1892, at Ironwood, Michigan, daughter of the late William H. and Lillian J. Harvey Cook. She attended schools in Ironwood, Michigan, and following graduation attended Valparaizo University in Indiana, and Northern Michigan University at Marquette, Michigan. Following her graduation she taught in the elementary school system at Ironwood, Michigan, and later taught night art classes at Two Rivers Vocational School. She married W.D. Nelson on August 7, 1924, at Ironwood, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1967. Mrs. Nelson also had the Vera Nelson Craft Shop in Manitowoc. She was a 50 years member of Northern Michigan University Alumni, 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star and a past president of the Manitowoc Homemakers Club.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Ellen Comstock of Manitowoc and Marion and Vernon Parker of Ventura, California; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mrs. Nelson's name.
