1850 United States Federal Census (14 December 1850): Adams Township (District 215), Muskingum County, Ohio - Catherine Heasty (17 Ohio).

Her family moved to Iowa in 1853.

Catherine Heasty (24) married widower, John Law Acheson on 11 March 1857 in Jackson County, Iowa. To this union seven children were born, six boys and one girl, of whom three boys and the daughter died in infancy.

They moved to Jones County, Iowa in 1866.

Catherine Acheson (38 Ohio) died on 14 May 1870, in Wayne Township, Jones County, Iowa, of “Congestion of the Lungs” according to the U.S. Federal Census Mortality Schedule & WPA records. She is buried in the Four Horn U. P. Cemetery, Wayne Township, Jones County, Iowa beside her infant son and daughter in section 2, row 1.
