WEST VALLEY/PRICE- Loved husband, father, grandfather and brother of 82 years, Louis (Louie) Vetere, passed away December 28, 2002, while surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Villa.

He was born June 19, 1920 to Italian immigrants John and Mary Sacco Vetere in Green River, Utah, where he grew up and worked hard, along with all the members of his family on the farm, raising melons. He took this opportunity to learn the value of hard work.

Married Laura Bonello, December 6, 1941 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church in Price. Member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Owned and operated Vetere Motors and Melody Motor Mobile Home in Price until 1978. Louie retired and moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1979, where he was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, as well as being active in various activities at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church. He enjoyed bowling with his grandsons and friends, where they competed in several tournaments together. In 1998 he moved to Salt Lake City. Louie was a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather and he especially enjoyed reading books to his granddaughter, Marra.

Survived by his wife, Laura; daughter, Mary Lou (Thomas) Judd; son, Michael; granddaughter, Marra; grandson, John Judd; great-grandson, Thomas B. Judd; sister, Ida Ryan, Valencia, CA; three brothers, Frank (Mary Ellen), John (Bonnie), and Jay (Jackie), all of Green River; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rose Politano; brother, Charlie; half sisters, Jean Spadafora and Elena Acocks.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Father Cullerton, Sisters, Thaddeus and Placidus, Dr. Norman, nurses and staff at Christus St. Joseph Villa for their loving care of Louis and his family.

Funeral Mass, Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, 10:00 a.m. Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church. Vigil service, Thursday evening 7:00 p.m. Mitchell Funeral Home, 233 E. Main St. Family will be at Mitchell's Thursday and Fri. one hour prior to services. Committal service, Price City Cemetery.
