Deborah A. Dillon Lightfoot, 51, of Lincoln, Calif. formerly of South Windsor, Conn. died June 21, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Deborah was the wife of David H. Lightfoot; daughter of Patricia S. Dillon and the late Thomas J. Dillon of South Windsor, Conn. She leaves three sisters, Mary-Ellen of Ga., Patricia of Newington, and Kathleen Dillon-Orduz and her husband Byron of South Windsor, a brother, Thomas and his wife Diana of South Windsor. She also leaves three brother-in-laws and their wives, Jim Lightfoot and Linda of Fullerton, Calif., Herbert Lightfoot and Pat of Clayton, N.C., Daniel Lightfoot of Lincoln, Calif., and one sister-in-law and her husband Linda Aidnik and Bill of Lincoln, Calif. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews. She leaves countless friends who will miss her dearly.

Debbie was employed by the California Department of Health Services/Audits & Investigation Division as an Information Systems Analyst of the Information Technology Unit. She was a graduate of South Windsor High School (Class of 1974), the University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois, and received her Master's Degree from San Jose State University, San Jose, Calif.

A quadriplegic since the age of 14, Debbie was an avid wheelchair sports participant - a member of the University of Illinois Ms. Kid Basketball Team and also participated in their track and field team, played with the Peninsula Golden Spokes Men's team, was a founding member of the Bay Area Meteorites Women's Basketball Team and played on the Sacramento Gold Rush Women's team. She was part of the USA Team Paralympics in Toronto, Canada in 1976, the USA Team - Stoke Mandeville Games, Aylesbury, England in 1977, and the USA Team - Pan American Team, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1978.

Deb was a season ticket holder and an enthusiastic fan of the Sacramento Monarchs Women's Basketball team. She was active in Wheelchair Sports Administration and was the Secretary of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association for 18 years and was inducted into the NWBA Hall of Fame in April 2001.

The funeral will be held, June 28, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 280 Oak Tree Lane, Lincoln, Calif. Burial will follow, Lincoln Cemetery, 1445 First Street, Lincoln, Calif. Visitation will be on June 27, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary from 7:00 p.m. at Lincoln Funeral Home, 406 H Street, Lincoln, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to University of Illinois, Rehabilitation Services, C/O Bradley Hedrick, 1207 South Oak Street, Champaign, Ill 61820 or St. Joseph Church, Building Fund, 280 Oak Tree Lane, Lincoln, CA, 95648.
