T.O. Hite, for nine years a resident of Anadarko, passed away Jan. 4, 1919, in Oklahoma City, where he had recently moved with his daughter, Miss Jean Hite.
Thomas Ormsby Hite was born at Bardstown, Ky., Feb. 11, 1834, and at the time of his death was nearing 85 years of age. He was married, June 2, 1862 to Malvina Boone, To this union were born six children; two died in infancy. Ormsby Hite died last September as the result of a boiler explosion near Tulsa, where he was looking after cattle. M.L. Hite and Miss Jean Hite of Oklahoma City and Boone D. Hite of Anadarko survive him, also Muir Hite and Morris Hite, grandchildren. His wife died in this city in 1914.

Mr. Hite was actively engaged in business until sixteen years ago, when an attack of typhoid pneumonia impaired his health. At the time of the opening of this part of Oklahoma he was engaged in the lumber business at Ft. Cobb. He was in bed less than a week, and his mind was active until after he became bedfast. Mr. Hite was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian church. Rev. S.V Fait of this city conducted the funeral services, which were held in Oklahoma City at 10 o'clock Monday morning.

His body will rest in a receiving vault with that of his beloved wife, and there they will remain until the new State mausoleum is completed, when they will find permanent resting places within this new home of the dead.

He was married to Novina Boone of Meade county, Ky., in 1862 and they had six children, three of whom survive, M.L. Hite, Boone T. Hite and Emma Jean Hite, all of Oklahoma City. Mr. Hite settled at Fort Cobb in 1902, and has lived in Oklahoma since. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at the Marshall & Harper chapel.
