Born in Trimble, Ohio, Max was the son of Wayne and Marie (Barstow) Antle. He graduated from High School in Ohio and attended the University of Kentucky. He was a WWII and Korean Conflict Veteran, serving in the Marine Corp, retiring as a Lt. colonel. He had worked as a National Sales Rep. for United McGill Corp. Mr. Antle had been a resident of Stoneham, Massachusetts for the past 23 years. He was a member of the Masonic Hall in Ohio and the Scottish Rite in Ohio.

Max was the husband of Eileen (Smith) Antle.

Obituary

Lt. Col. USMC (Ret.) died on March 20, 2009 in Stoneham, MA. Mr. Antle was born in Trimble, OH on Feb. 16, 1920. He is survived by his wife, Eileen M. Antle whom he married in 1986. Also surviving are five children from his previous marriage to Martha Ann Heckman (deceased); Susan Antle of Vienna, VA, Greg Antle of Palm Bay, FL, Nancy (William) Snyder of Miamisburg, OH, Jane Antle Bowman of Fayetteville, GA, and Karen Antle Kerr of Reynoldsburg, OH; seven grandchildren, Jeff and Chris Antle, Gregory and Bradley Snyder, Trevor and Brandon Bowman, Abigail Kerr Baker; and six great-grandchildren; other relatives, former daughter and sons-in-law, Peg Caryer Antle, Brad Bowman, and Durbin Kerr; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy Devine and Jack Smith both of Boston, MA, Memorial services will be held at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home in Athens, OH on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. Interment Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster, OH.
