Mrs. Edward (Lila E.) Nething, 73, a resident of North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc, died Wednesday afternoon, July 13, 1988 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Saturday at Reinbold-Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Glenn H. Unke will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mrs. Nething was born February 8, 1915 at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Tracy C. and Martha Flentje Thompson. She grew up and was educated at Manitowoc, living in Manitowoc most of her life. She was married to Edward E. Nething Sr., November 9, 1932 at Manitowoc. He preceded her in death January 26, 1982. Mrs. Nething was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. She was a former member of Manitowoc and Two Rivers Senior Citizens.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Edward and Julia Nething Jr., of Uncasville, Connecticut, Robert and Gladys Nething of Two Rivers; two daughters, Doris Weber of Two Rivers and Beverly Long of Manitowoc; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and June Thompson of Elberta, Michigan, Charles and Lucille Thompson of Manitowoc, Robert and Emma Thompson of East Falmouth, Massachusetts, Edward and Joyce Stockmeyer of Newport, North Carolina; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Edna Snow of Chicago, Illinois, Mary and Russell Hasheck of Two Rivers; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; friends, Agnes Frechette and Viola (Sis) Shimek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Ann, a son-in-law, Milton Weber, two grandsons, Tracy and Phillip Weber and a granddaughter, Cynthia Weber.

Friends may call at Reinbold-Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei State Street Chapel, Manitowoc, 5 pm to 9 pm Friday and Saturday until the time of services.
