Mr. and Mrs. Harry M. Kroos, 710 Whitcomb Ave.,celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner party at the Sheboygan Yacht Club for 27 members of their family. The group later gathered at the Kroos home. Kroos and the former Elsie Abitz were married by the Rev. William Czamanske of St. Mark Lutheran Church on Dec. 25, 1913. Now retired, Kroos was employed for 49 years at the Asgrow Seed Co., formerly the John H. Allan Seed Co., where he was supervisor of handpicking and quality control. The celebrants are members of Our Savior Lutheran Church and in earlier years were members of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Kroos served the latter congregation as an elder and school board member for many years and was on the building committee when the new edifice was built in 1931 at the corner of N. 13th St. and Lincoln Ave. He is a charter member of the American Luther Association and a past member of the Lutheran Laymen's League. While affiliated with St. Paul Church. Mrs. Kroos served as first president of the Ladies Aid Society. who read letters of congratulations fromalso is a past vice president of some of the 14 grandchildren the Ladies Aid at Our Savior Church. Both Mr. and Mrs. Kroos were born in 1891. She continued to play bridge in a club which originated more than 55 years ago. Present for the occasion were the couple's sons and daughters, Rowland and Elwood Kroos, both of Sheboygan, Mrs. Henry (Charlotte)Hoerz, Wauwatosa, and Mrs. Alfred(Harriet)Krause of Springfield, ILL. who read letters of congratulations from some of the 14 grandchildren unable to be present.
